Quad/Graphics Named to FORTUNE Magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For" List

January 24, 2007

Outstanding employee benefits and a unique corporate culture have landed Quad/Graphics on FORTUNE magazine's 2006 list of 100 Best Companies to Work For. The list and related stories appears in the January 23 issue of FORTUNE, available on newsstands January 16 and at www.fortune.com on January 9.

"This is prestigious recognition and a tremendous tribute to what my father [Founder Harry V. Quadracci] and all of us have worked so hard to build over the years … a company by employees, for employees," said Quad/Graphics President & Chief Operating Officer Joel Quadracci. "I find it particularly meaningful this year as we prepare to celebrate our milestone 35th anniversary on July 13."

FORTUNE's annual list, compiled by the Great Place to Work® Institute, ranks Quad/Graphics #75 overall and #25 out of the 38 large companies that made the ranking. It cites, among other areas of excellence, our family-oriented atmosphere (half of our employees are related by blood or marriage), as well as our onsite medical and childcare centers, and recreational facilities.

Candidate companies were rated on the Great Place to Work® Trust Index©, a scoring system that evaluates a company's workplace culture, pay and benefits programs, demographics and employee sentiment. Two-thirds of the overall score was based on direct survey feedback from up to 400 randomly selected employees, and included an evaluation of employees' trust in management, pride in their work and sense of camaraderie. The other one-third of the score was based on a company-supplied culture audit.

Approximately 500 companies participated in this year's competition. To be eligible, companies had to be at least 7 years old and have a minimum of 1,000 employees.

Quad/Graphics shares the prestigious honor with other well-known companies such as Wegmans Food Markets, Starbucks, American Express, Microsoft, IKEA and Nike, as well as Wisconsin-based companies Robert W. Baird and S.C. Johnson.
