Federal Emergency Agency

Description

A federally funded program which assists households that have sustained an emergency or crisis.

Application Process

Applicants must make an appointment and bring proof of income and Nevada residence.

Qualifications/Eligibility

Applicant’s NV Energy's account must be at least 30 days in arrears. Applicant must be a Nevada resident and provide proof of crisis, such as job loss.


Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS)

Description

Privately funded assistance program by the L.D.S church.

Application Process

Applicant must make appointment at local ward with the presiding Bishop.

Qualifications/Eligibility

Applicant must be an active member of the L.D.S. church.

Program

Medical as well as Rental/Energy Assistance

Description

This program is funded by property taxes allocated to Clark County Social Services.

Application Process

Applicant must apply at a Clark County Social Services office Monday – Friday, between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. First come, first served.

Qualifications/Eligibility

Rental/Energy Assistance: Zero income. Medical Assistance: Must establish a medical need.

Description

Provides energy assistance to applicants who are experiencing hardships.

Application Process

Applicant must call for appointment to fill out application.

Qualifications/Eligibility

Applicant must be of Jewish faith. Applicant must also be experiencing an emergency situation, or is in danger of service disconnection.

E.F.S.P. Emergency Food & Shelter Program

Description

A collaborative with the state of Nevada to help low-income households pay their electric, gas or water bill. This program is available until funds are exhausted.

Application Process

Applicant must call to make an appointment.

Qualifications/Eligibility

The applicant’s account must be active. Assistance is provided on the current charges of a two-month bill (excluding late charges and deposit), up to $250.

Description

This program is funded by the State of Nevada and provides assistance for both rent and utilities.
