Reduced energy bills. Greater comfort. Smaller carbon footprint.
Enjoy all three with an Energy Plus New Home! Certified Energy Plus New Homes are built to exceed the energy efficiency of a standard home by 30 percent - doubling ENERGY STAR standards. Certified homes include a number of energy-saving features, including duct sealing, proper insulation, and high efficiency air conditioning units, that result in an efficient, comfortable home.
The Energy Plus New Homes Program provides rebates to certified builders in the NV Energy service territory that build high-efficiency homes. (Rebates are only available to home builders.)
How does a home qualify?
An independent Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Rater grades the efficiency of the home according to Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) standards. To qualify, the home must score a 70 (ENERGY STAR requires a score of 85, and like golf, the lower the score the better).

What are the benefits of owning an Energy Plus Home?
Energy Cost Savings
Because your Energy Plus Home is 30% more efficient than a standard home, you’ll save on utility bills for years to come. Energy savings vary depending on the size and features of the home.
Built Better
The program requires specific efficiency measures, such as air duct sealing, controlling air flow in and out of your home, maximizing the efficiency of air conditioning units, and properly insulated walls. Once the home is completed, it is tested, rated and certified by a third-party HERS Rater to ensure that the upgrades meet the Energy Plus Homes standards. This results in a more efficient and comfortable home.
Reduced Carbon Footprint
Carbon footprint is defined as “the total amount of greenhouse gases produced to support human activities.” Since your Energy Plus New Home uses less energy than even an ENERGY STAR-certified home, it reduces the amount of greenhouse gases produced by the generation of electricity.
There’s never been a better time to purchase an energy efficient home. Contact an Energy Plus New Home Builder today.
