Krone North America Opens Western Region Distribution Center in Reno
April 9, 2010
Krone North America, a major manufacturer of hay and forage harvesting equipment, has opened its new Western Region distribution center in Reno, Nevada. The 50,000 square foot facility will serve as a parts distribution point for the company’s network of dealers in the Western U.S., and as a training facility.
Why did the company choose Reno? “We liked the area’s central location. We distribute large parts that need to be delivered by truck, and overnight service is available to California, Utah and Idaho from Reno,” said George Kilbride, western region manager Krone. “In addition, we’re close to the airport.”
Kilbride said the other advantages offered by Reno included reasonable prices for industrial space and the recreational attractions of the Sierra Nevada region that make the area appealing to employees.
Krone North America held an open house in March for dealers and customers from throughout the West. Among the machines on display at the event were the BiG X 1000 Forage Harvester, the world’s largest forage harvester. (These farm implements harvest forage plants, including corn, to produce livestock feed.) The company also manufactures equipment to cut and bale hay.
