1. Account Number
Remember to put your account number on your payment checks to ensure proper accounting. You will also need this number when you make a billing inquiry.

2. Service Address
Where you receive and use the electricity. It may be different from your billing address.

3. Meter Read Date
The next date your meter will be read.

4. Account Balance Information
Includes your Previous Balance, Payments, Adjustments, Balance Forward and Current Charges.

6. Utility Service Title Box
If you receive electric or gas services from NV Energy, you will have a "utility service box" for each service.

Information specific to your meter including reads, read dates, and usage. (This information appears in each utility service box.)

8. Electric Consumption
The use and charges based on the electric rate for commercial customers.

9. Demand Charge
A charge for the amount of demand or service requested. This charge is based on the amount of electricity drawn in kilowatts (KW) at peak use and is designed to recover costs associated with generation and transmission facilities required to serve the customer.

10. Facilities Charge
A charge for the amount of demand or service requested. This charge is based on the amount of electricity drawn in kilowatts (KW) at peak use and is designed to recover costs associated with distribution facilities required to serve the customer.

11. Deferred Energy Adjustment
A rate adjustment mechanism that reimburses the Utility for the electricity purchased on behalf of its customers.

12. Temporary Green Power Financing (TRED)
The Public Utilities Commission of Nevada recently authorized changes to certain components of electric rates to further the development of green power projects in Nevada.

13. Renewable Energy Program (REPR)
A fee that helps further development of alternative energy projects and renewable rebate programs approved by the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada on October 1, 2008.

14. Energy Efficiency (EE) Charge
A charge to recover costs  and other expenses associated with Energy Efficiency and Conservation Programs.

15. Basic Service Charge
This covers a portion of fixed administrative costs, such as monthly meter reading and payment processing.

16. Local Government Fee
Fee imposed by local government, consisting of any business license fee, gross receipts or similar tax, collected by the Utility for doing business in its jurisdiction. The fee is based upon the total amount of monthly billing excluding the UEC charge.

17. Universal Energy Charge
A mandated fee that provides money to fund the State of Nevada energy assistance and conservation programs.

18. Carson City/Washoe County Under-grounding Surcharges
A fee ordered by the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada to collect the additional costs incurred to underground an electric distribution line as required by the Carson City Board of Supervisors, and to underground an electric transmission line, as required by the Washoe County Board of Commissioners.

The easy-to-read graph shows your monthly energy consumption for a one-year period. (New customers will only have graphs for the months they have occupied their business.)

23. Gas Utility Box
 
Contains meter information and service period along with a breakdown of the various gas charges.    

  • Gas Usage Charge multiplies the number of therms used by the gas rate.
  • Fuel Adjustment multiplies the number of therms used by an adjustment rate determined by the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada.
  • Customer Charge is a fixed charge that covers a portion of fixed administrative costs such as monthly meter reading and payment processes.
  • Local Government Fee is levied by the local government. Revenues collected through this fee go to the local treasury.
