Welcome to RenewableGenerations, the incentive program from NV Energy that helps customers offset the installation costs of renewable energy systems. Customers across Nevada can save money and help protect the environment when participating in the RenewableGenerations program.
SolarGenerations offers incentives to customers for installing approved photovoltaic systems on their homes, small businesses, public buildings, or schools. The incentive amounts available for the 2010/2011 program year will be:

RenewableGenerations Background
In 2003, Nevada state legislation was passed that encouraged NV Energy customers to install solar photovoltaic systems. The SolarGenerations Program launched August 1, 2004, as a Demonstration Program. Given its success, in 2007 the Nevada State Legislature made the SolarGenerations Program permanent (nearly doubling its size from 1,900kW to 3,760 kW) and added the new HydroGenerations and WindGenerations Programs. All three Programs together form RenewableGenerations.
Residential, small business, agriculture, public building and school customers from across Nevada can benefit from the RenewableGenerations incentive program.
Residential Customers
With a little help from the natural resources in your own back yard, you may be able to generate a significant portion of your own electricity, save money on your energy bills, reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and even improve your home's resale value. Plus the RenewableGenerations incentive program will help offset the installation costs of your solar PV or wind generating system.
- SolarGenerations Incentive: $2.10 per watt. $10,500 maximum incentive
- WindGenerations Incentive: $2.50 per watt up to 10 kW $1.50 per watt above 10 kW
Small Business Customers
Increasing efficiency plus declining costs equal a better bottom line. Today's renewable energy systems are reliable, attractive, affordable and becoming more efficient all the time. Companies with less than 500 employees can receive a one-time cash incentive after approval and installation of a solar PV or wind generating system on their building.
- SolarGenerations Incentive: $2.10 per watt. $63,000 maximum incentive
- WindGenerations Incentive: $2.50 per watt up to 10 kW $1.50 per watt above 10 kW
Agriculture Customers
Hydro power is generated by using electricity generators to extract energy from moving water. Like most other alternate energy sources, micro-hydro solutions are emissions-free and have very low-impact on the environment. If you are an agriculture property owner and have a viable water source such as a river, creek or streams on your property you may want to consider installing a micro-hydro system.
- HydroGenerations Incentive: $2.50 per watt
(Based on annual kilowatt-hour output.)Agriculture customers are also eligible for the WindGenerations incentive program which helps offset the costs of installing a small wind system.
- WindGenerations Incentive: $2.50 per watt up to 10 kW $1.50 per watt above 10 kW
Public Building Customers
Installing a renewable energy generating system such as solar PV or small wind generator provides clean, reliable, renewable energy and heightens your profile as an organization that is concerned about your community's shared natural resources. With the incentives offered through the RenewableGenerations program you can considerably offset your initial investment. After payback, energy cost savings add up year after year.
- SolarGenerations Incentive: $4.20 per watt
- WindGenerations Incentive: $3.00 per watt up to 10 kW $2.00 per watt above 10 kW
School Customers
Installing a renewable energy generating system in your school helps instill the value of energy conservation in your students while lowering your facility's monthly operating costs. Educational facilities across the nation are putting solar and wind into their power mix.
- SolarGenerations Incentive: $4.20 per watt
- WindGenerations Incentive: $3.00 per watt up to 10 kW $2.00 per watt above 10 kW
