NMR-A Overview
Southern Nevada customers who installed or had an active application for a rooftop solar system of 1,000 kilowatts or less between January 1, 2016 and June 14, 2017. This rate is not available in northern Nevada.
NMR-A rate is closed to new net metering customers.
NMR-A customers receive a monetary credit for excess energy, with a possible year-end payout. Here’s how it works:
- You receive a monetary credit for ALL energy you export, regardless of how much is delivered to you by NV Energy.
- The credit rate will decline over time and will likely become lower in value than that of the NMR-G and/or NMR-405 credit.
- The credits can be applied to any and all charges.
- Remaining credits at the end of the year will be paid to you by check.
- If you transfer service to another location or end service with NV Energy, any remaining credit after the final bill will be paid to you by check.
Here is an example of billing for NMR-A customers (amounts are for demonstration purposes):
Example 1 (Southern Nevada Only):
Energy we deliver to you | 100 kWh |
Energy you export to the grid | 30 kWh |
Energy billed at consumption rate | 100 kWh |
Excess Energy Credit calculation | 30 kWh (exported) x $0.08581 (sample NMR-A credit rate per kWh) |
Excess Energy Credit | $2.5743 |
Example 2 (Southern Nevada Only):
Energy we deliver to you | 30 kWh |
Energy you export to the grid | 100 kWh |
Energy billed at consumption rate | 30 kWh |
Excess Energy Credit calculation | 100 kWh (exported) x $0.08581 (sample NMR-A credit rate per kWh) |
Excess Energy Credit | $8.581 |
This rate class treats exported energy differently than the NMR-405 and NMR-G rate classes.
