Rebuilding a Power Line and Improving Customer Reliability
NV Energy is constantly looking for ways to improve and maintain the lines and equipment. Recently company engineers focused their expertise on a legacy 60,000-volt powerline that was built in 1956. To ensure continuing service to customers and necessary environmental protections, the project required out-of-the-box thinking and a multiphase more.

Providing Assistance to Further Economic Development
As businesses continue to relocate to Nevada, the state’s infrastructure needs are growing. Recently, the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) asked NV Energy for assistance with a necessary road expansion project from the northern Nevada TRI Center to the U.S. 50 Silver Springs corridor. One of the electric lines occupied the direct path of the planned expansion. Moving the line required our crews to secure new land easements in order to relocate 70 poles that spanned approximately 12 more.
