Nye County has a population of a little over 40,000 and offers a quiet quality of life. Mining, service and government are the largest industries in the county and industries are supported by strong transportation links to California. Additionally, the area is in close proximity to Death Valley and its endless recreational opportunities.

Tonopah is located 239 miles south-east of Reno/Sparks and 207 miles northwest of Las Vegas on U.S. Highway 95 and 6 and State Route 376. Nye County, the third largest county in the United States, totals 18,064 square miles. To the south, Nye County borders the state of California.
