Retail Open Access

Retail Open Access was made possible with the passage of AB661 during the 2001 Nevada Legislative session. This legislation established the criteria for eligible customers to purchase energy, capacity and ancillary services from providers of new electric resources.

Central to Nevada's Retail Open Access Program is the development and use of new electric energy resources (generation assets) by eligible customers. It's hoped that this legislative support will result in an expansion of the supply of electricity to the state, which will strengthen the economy and enhance the lifestyle of all residents.

If you are a commercial, industrial or government entity with an average annual consumption greater than one megawatt (8,760,000 kWh) - you may be eligible for Retail Open Access.
