Project Purpose and Location

NV Energy has launched a project to improve the efficiency and reliability of our electric lines and facilities in some of the oldest neighborhoods in Reno. Beginning last August, we have been conducting planning and design work, pruning trees and testing power poles in the area bordered north and south by California Avenue and Monroe Street, and east and west by Lander Street and Marsh Avenue

Scope of Work

In 2013, NV Energy will be performing maintenance, replacing some wires and insulators and/or replacing power poles as needed. This work will be primarily conducted on the streets and alleyways in above-mentioned neighborhood.  However, for a small percentage of residents with power poles and lines in their backyards, we will need to gain access into and through those backyards. We are asking residents to please allow these workers access to our facilities. We will work individually with residents who have poles in their backyards that need maintenance or replacement.

Work is planned to continue in the area over the next three or more months, excluding any delays for weather or other complications. During that time, there may be a need for brief disruptions to your electric service. If disruptions are necessary, we will work to reduce the inconvenience as much as possible and attempt to notify affected residents in advance.
